Some have asked.....so I respond.
Last week my Mom was placed in hospice (age 93) and received last rites. Cannot open eyes, speak, or eat. I whispered in her ear, and she did say "is my Jack here?" thinking my long gone Dad was there. All 7 children (except one) have been visiting daily.
My sister Kathleen, who winters in Mazatlan, Mexico, and had respitory problems (age 69) was to have flown home on Saturday, but died that day. Her husband Art, is devistated. All five of their kids....Steve, Dick, John, Coco, and Carrie flew to Mexico to bring Art home, along with cremation ashes. They were expected today. John had to be found as he was already in Nicaraugua on a vacation. It was a circus. Funeral is next Monday.
I am suposed to learn in May more of my kidney transplant. I am so weak right now, they may nix it. I am now on oxygen and have had blood transfusions again a few weeks ago. And morphine treatments, and dialysis continues. I am still on the bench, three days a week.
Perhaps most important, my first grandchild was born 3-31, and her name given was Lily O'Brien Scully. Blue eyes, dark hair. 8.5 pounds. Get this....hospital tagged her with name Johnson, until caught. Home now. Brent and Kim's house dog, Violet, thinks Lily is hers and will not sleep anywhere except under the crib. When I first held Lily, I got the evil eye. I put a football in her crib. This girl will be a star at Notre Dame, some day!
I sure do appreciate the messages to me. Thank you.
Spring has sprung here, boats going in water. Lovely.
Take care, all.
Jack
