Visitor numbers to Ireland rte reports revealing- misleading

rte has for years - reported the visitor numbers to Ireland.
unlike most nations main news broadcasters, rte regularly reported visitor numbers to Ireland, as a resource to Ireland's once all important tourism industry.
it was the statistic that suggested how many people were coming to Ireland on vacation.
rte continue to report these figures and do so in no modern context, do so in no context except assumption (naïve at best).
Misleading rte news?
Why is this so! when not only is tourism no longer all important to Ireland and has not been for 2 decades, but for well over a decade we have had a new phenomena - EU and global economic migrants coming to Ireland because their own countries offer less.
rte today go further - reporting these huge numbers as tourists as if they have quantified and analyzed the numbers!
The number of overseas trips to Ireland by non-residents increased by 300,000 (+17.8%) to two million during the last three months of 2015, when compared with the same period the previous year.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office also show the number of nights spent in Ireland by overseas travellers increased by 14.9% to 12.8 million in Q4 2015, compared with the same period in 2014.
The average duration of overseas trips to Ireland fell slightly from 6.6 nights in Q4 2014 to 6.4 nights between last October and December.
The statistics indicate that year-on-year tourism earnings from overseas travellers rose from €952m to €1.14bn for the final quarter of 2015.
When fares are excluded, total expenditure increased from €711m to €873m (+22.8%) for the period.
Meanwhile, according to the CSO the number of trips made by Irish residents overseas during the last three months of 2015 increased by 5.9% to 1.54bn.
Misleading rte news at best!
Very doubtful if rte actually speak to most or any visitors in any attempt to quantify who these supposed 'visitors' are and purpose of Ireland visits.
Could be rte as part of the global corporate whore known as modern Ireland? - have no interest in quantifying or illuminating any context in this supposed 'good news'
Reality check!
these rte supposed 'visitor figures' are unlikely to be mostly or even near close to a majority of tourists as the news not only 'suggests' as was always the case, but today is stating if not promoting as literal tourist figures.
Do you believe the visits to be mainly by tourists?
Or should the population already here be concerned at these numbers!
By reports - Ireland with a small population already has a very high percentage of immigrants in % comparison to native population. One of the highest in the world, likely higher than Germany with its own crisis.
What is naively (at best) promoted as good news, should ring alarm bells to anyone who cares about Ireland and the current people native and immigrant alike.
Native and immigrant alike in Ireland will testify to the reality that Ireland does not have services to cater properly for it's existing population.
So should this supposed good news, be accepted on face value without question.
Once again
Blindly the people are not being told the full story, of the risks, kept in the dark by minority selfish interests, being pushed smiling into another bubble forming that is destined to burst in bad news for us all.
rte need to show their research, their analysis that claims these numbers as tourists.
How many of these 300,000 are economic migrants?
how many of these supposed visitors are (in reality) coming to Ireland as a extra burden to a small nation that can not currently provide a decent life for far too many of the population!
how many of these supposed visitors are (in reality) coming to Ireland in more a extra burden to a small nation that despite and contrary to the corporate whore Bull, is in serious economic difficulties.
How many supposed Visitors are coming as economic migrants to a
Ireland that has near 10% unemployed
A Ireland that has too many in 'jobs' of no personal career choice and offering little security.
How many supposed Visitors are actually coming as economic migrants to a Ireland that has a extremely serious housing crisis, serious homeless issues.
Ireland that has a health service crisis.
Ireland that has overfilled schools with very high teacher to pupil ratios.
Ireland that has already gone too far in aiming to become another USA lite melting pot of no significant cultural distinction
