Weather in Ireland -- best and worst of Irish weather

The Irish weather maps and forecasts have surprised me -- I never knew that the Southern part of Ireland was so much warmer than the North. Sligo is still looking good.
The south of Ireland is averaging 4 degrees warmer --that is a lot -- for a small Island. The best weather in Ireland is in Sligo -- hahahehe -- despite the maps show the best weather is in the south west region. Sean's Kerry. Worst weather in Ireland is Donegal womans manor. I knew it.
Does anyone know if this climate difference is all year round. I tried to find out -- google and yahoo. More opinions on the Irish weather.
Donegal gets no sun official. hahahehe Official Ireland Weather Maps prove it.
Irish weather Records shows that
Donegal has a average of 400 less hours of sunshine every year than most of Ireland.
No vitamin D means bad tempers -- mood swings. Explains it all about my Donegal relatives hahahehe
Every day Donegal and the extreme North are either raining or colder.
Don't take my word for it, check out at the daily Irish weather maps on the right ----->
Irish Climate
Wikipedia main article: Climate of Ireland
Ireland's climate is temperate, though significantly warmer than almost all other locations at similar latitude, such as Poland (on the continent) or Newfoundland (on the opposite edge of the Atlantic), due to the warming influence of the North Atlantic drift. The prevailing wind blows from the southwest, breaking on the high mountains of the west coast. Rainfall is therefore a particularly prominent part of western Irish life, with Valentia Island, off the west coast of County Kerry, getting almost twice as much annual rainfall as Dublin on the east (1,400 mm/55.1 in vs. 762 mm/30.0 in). Across the country, about 60% of the annual rainfall occurs between August and January.
January and February are the coldest months of the year, and mean daily air temperatures fall between 4 and 7 °C (39.2 and 44.6 °F) during these months. July and August are the warmest, with a range of 14 to 16 °C (57.2 to 60.8 °F). The sunniest months are May and June, with an average of five to seven hours sunshine per day. Though extreme weather events in Ireland are comparatively rare when compared with other countries in the European Continent, they do occur. Explosive Atlantic depressions, occurring mainly in the months of December, January and February, can occasionally bring winds of up to 160 km/h/99 mph to Western coastal counties; while the summer months, and particularly around late July/early August, sudden and violent thunderstorms can develop, more especially, but not exclusively, across midland and western areas of the country.
The table shows mean climate figures for the Dublin Airport weather station over a thirty-year period. Climate statistics based on the counties of Northern Ireland vary slightly but are not significantly different.
None of Ireland is that warm but the warmest and most dry places would be the south, like in Wexford to Kerry, Cork and Waterford etc.
Coldest, Windiest and wettest, the most miserable weather in Ireland is the north like Donegal, Derry etc.
Sunshine hours in Ireland map
Donegal has at least 400 less hours of sunshine than most of Ireland
Sunshine in Ireland
The sunniest months are May and June. During these months sunshine duration averages between 5 and 6.5 hours per day over most of the country. The extreme southeast gets the most sunshine, averaging over 7 hours a day in early summer.
One fact is Sligo is warmer and drier than cold and raining Donegal.
Donegal has to be the worst weather in Ireland. It is always raining and so cold.
Got this from a Donegal man on another forum. Good joke -- Why is Donegal always so cold and so damp.
