Because of EU laws we have had to endure hundreds of thousands of European and other immigrants. Ireland is now suffering the consequences of unprecedented levels of immigration.
Immigration on this level and basis was always going to end in disaster. The EU makes us powerless in our own land.
Immigration has been bad for Ireland.
Most immigrants worked for the minimum wage and would never have paid much taxes, if any tax into our Revenue.
Immigrants have taken most of what was our students part time jobs, making Irish families suffer that extra cost burden.
Immigrants place a ridiculous burden on our public services, especially upon our schools and upon our health system.
Crime rates have risen. We have to pay for interpreters for immigrants. We provide foreign criminals with the best free legal advice. It is Irish families who suffer these costs.
Immigrants in general have not enriched Ireland in any sense, on the contrary, Immigrants have sent billions of Irish euros back to their home nation and out of the Irish economy, forever.
When their low paid job goes, they get Irish tax payer hand outs.
I am not certain if we have to pay them any dole money or any social welfare, but we do, and at levels that is very unfair on the Irish tax payer. Making Irish families suffer that extra cost.
We Irish would not get these hand outs in any of these foreigners countries.
The only Irish who benefit from unprecedented levels of immigration are the greedy business owners who exploit the EU system and employ immigrant labour. They know immigrants are cheaper and will not complain about conditions, at least not in the short term.
We did not want this mass immigration here, the Irish people did not ask for them to come. We do not want to pay for immigrants.
Over 20% on the dole are non-nationals.
25% receiving rent allowance are non-nationals.
We can not afford this.
Why are the immigrants home nations not paying for their citizens to be unemployed in Ireland.
We are now paying a very high price for these immigrants. We are losing our jobs and risking our own Irish childrens futures.
The EU deal is very bad for Ireland.
This is the thanks the Irish receive.
EU clears €54.5m Polish aid for Dell plant
Wednesday, 23 September 2009
Poland today won approval from the European Commission for its plan to grant €54.5m in aid for a factory to which US tech company Dell is moving production from Ireland.
After an in-depth investigation, the EU competition authority said the aid was compatible with the bloc's rules, despite protests from Ireland, where Dell is closing its factory in Limerick.
The Polish plant, located in the unemployment-hit central city of Lodz, is to employ up to 3,000 people to produce desktops, notebooks and servers.
'Our assessment shows that the project's contribution to regional development and job creation in a disadvantaged region of Poland outweighs any potential negative effects,' EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes said in a statement.
'For cases like this, which could present a high risk of distorting competition and where job losses in other member states have been pointed to, we need to conduct a detailed economic analysis of the market and of the impact of the aid before taking a decision,' she added.
Early this year, Dell said it was relocating its European manufacturing from Limerick to Lodz with the loss of 1,900 jobs.
The Commission said its investigation had shown that job losses in Ireland would not be a consequence of the aid granted by the Polish authorities to the Lodz factory.
