ireland's largest agricultural event has been cancelled due to the bad weather.
the tullamore show, which attracts around 50,000 visitors to county offaly every year, was due to take place today.
the first threat to the show this year was the recent outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease in england.
but it was severe flooding of the 150 acre venue at charleville estate yesterday and throughout the night that forced the cancellation.
