Gerry and Bertie show cancelled

The Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams has said: "We are ready for government, north and south. Sinn Fein is a party of government."
With a too close to call election result expected, Sinn Fein with around 10% of the national vote could hold power, they and other smaller parties and independent members could be the partners in a coallition government. But Sinn Fein will not be partners with the current power party Fine Fail.
Just as the people of Ireland are set to vote on the new government, the current Irish leader Bertie Ahern has said that he would not enter a coalition with Sinn Fein. Mr Ahern said differences between Sinn Fein and his Fianna Fail party were on policies. Bertie Ahern said they were "poles apart" on several issues. "I might not even be in the equation myself. Maybe others will form the numbers and they won't want me, My job is to try and maximise every vote I can."
However, Mr Ahern said he did not believe the election outcome would result in a stalemate and that several combinations could emerge.
