Bad decision .

We gathered round the kitchen me ma and da and me
not sure of what to do with it the little yellow chic
me maw said , oh sure they will come back
the mothers got to know , sure they cant expect
all of us to be the mother hens

me da he laughed aloud at this , me ma just growled at him
said I lets keep it as a pet , wont add to the usual din
it looked at us with beady eyes , all black as black can be
and shook its matted feathers as if to say ...not ,me

was thought and pondered for a while , then was decieded
outside it goes , to meet his foes was better to be this way
was not ours to keep or love or care , tommorow was its day
it hopped along the cold stone floor ..and seemed to take a breath
and into the big foxes mouth ...and there it met his death .
