LOVE SONGS WITHOUT MUSIC

Pity the poor songwriter
Who cannot read or write music
An inconvenient way to write a love song to be sure
No heightening crescendos, no joyous leaping of notes across the page
No bittersweet chording echoing melancholy mood

Still...

There is something to be said for the silence of words...

Do not be fooled by the absence of sound

My tears are silent but my pain is my own

Nonetheless....

I am hindered by my inability to write music or to play it

My words
Sharp as swords
Soft as rain rhythmically falling on the veranda

Listen to the music of the words
Spoken in truth and passion...

Though I may not love wisely
I love deeply
Foolishness requires an innocence
A willingness to believe in whisps of dreams
And take hoopshots at miracles

Do not be fooled by the absense of sound
