Sceala Irish Craic Forum Discussion:     British bankruptcy tourism, encourages Irish corruption

The Irish bankruptcy laws (based on old British laws) are of course outdated and unfair.
The Irish government has done nothing for the average Irish citizen in debt, they have instead cynically used them and loaded them with the debts of a few 'business people'.

While it seems that the average Irish person who is in debt because of unemployment, or the negative equity in their family home or because of illness, are effectively told they are to rely upon the charitable nature of bankers and the finance industry!

The few so called 'Business people' who owe millions, even billions to the state, are allowed to completely write their debts off! by becoming a British bankruptcy tourist for a year.

The Irish government has done little to nothing to prevent Billions being cynically written off by British bankruptcy tourism.
Why not?
It is almost as if the Irish Government lack of action, has been purposeful, cynically encouraging the corrupt to use the window of opportunity to write off their debts.

How would Westminster like it if Ireland set up a legal system that allowed their own British citizens to write off debts, including unpaid taxes and Government fines.

Imagine the almighty fuss and drama that would be made by the Crown MP's and in the house of lords.
They would loudly and persistently accuse Ireland and the Irish of the worst corruption, of encouraging British corruption and even criminality.

Westminster is corrupt to the core, that basic fact has not changed from Colonial days when they openly bullied and terrorized other nations into submission.
Their empire and supposed glory basically amounting to taking sides (supplying arms and back up) with one group of natives against another until all opposition was eradicated from within. The crown still cynically uses other places to bring wealth to their own doors.

Of course all these Irish billions being written off by the corrupt British system has made many British solicitors and financial bankruptcy experts wealthy.

Real money that belongs to Ireland is being written off by Westminster

These billions written out of the Irish tax system have directly effected Irish people. Hospitals and schools are going without, having cuts made because the British via Westminster laws have cynically welcomed and covered these debtors, welcomed the corrupt and even criminals (1) and written off their debts to Ireland.

But what has the Irish Government said about this scam! Have any of our so called Leaders even publicly registered their objections. Has a single one made a complaint to Westminster about their cynical bankruptcy tourism laws, a system that Westminster operates for their own benefit and to the detriment of other nations?

Then again this lack of moral courage and perverse selective silence should have been expected from our so called Irish leaders.
Never the less, while they made little fuss when British terrorists bombed and murdered Irish innocents in Dublin and Mongaghan the Irish capital. While various Irish Governments have continued to allow the British to keep the files secret.

You might have expected more fuss because money is involved with the Cynical and perverse British bankruptcy tourism laws.

British welcome Irish criminals to write off debts to Irish society.

Irish Gangster files for bankruptcy in UK

Kildare criminal Troy Jordan gave an address in a seaside town in Lancashire, in northern England, on documents submitted to the UK courts.
Gardai believe the 43-year-old is one of the most serious players in the drug-trafficking world and is under threat from a number of different criminals here.
The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) previously won a tax judgement against him for €800,000.
Earlier this year, Jordan was reportedly one of a dozen gangsters summoned to meetings with the Real IRA, who demanded protection money to enable him to continue his drug-dealing racket. However, he refused to hand over any cash.
Jordan's bankruptcy is likely to raise eyebrows in the criminal underworld, where he has made some major enemies.
It has emerged that the criminal mastermind, who was previously described in the Irish courts as a horse trader, was declared bankrupt at Blackpool County Court on May 31.
Along with a UK address, Jordan listed a previous residence as Allenwood South, near Naas, Co Kildare.
According to the UK Insolvency Service an official receiver has been appointed to handle his case.

The move means that not only will Jordan avoid going through the Irish courts – where he recently lost a challenge to his CAB tax settlement – he will also be discharged from bankruptcy in May of next year.

Under current Irish law, bankruptcy lasts for 12 years.
Jordan's business links over the years have included Martin 'Viper' Foley and Geraldine Gilligan, ex wife of jailed drug dealer John Gilligan.
Along with Foley, Jordan helped to found Viper Debate Recovery and Repossession Services in 2005. He resigned as a director in June 2010. During her legal battle with CAB over the Jessbrook Equestrian Centre in Enfield, Co Kildare, Geraldine Gilligan told the High Court in 2008 her only income was €5,000 per annum that she received from Jordan "for grass".
Despite having a massive criminal pedigree, Jordan has managed to avoid incurring any major convictions to date.

That is a example of just how cynical and perverse Westminster laws are when it comes to Ireland. The British Government have no respect for Ireland or the Irish people. The only time they even went to the bother of pretense and worked the media and Irish politicians with Bullshit, was around the occasion of the stage managed tour of Liz Sax Burg and Coburg Gotha.

Imagine the almighty fuss made if roles were reversed!
