You can not conveniently isolate the wearing of the Poppy in Ireland to WW1 and WW2. So called just wars, even if WW1 was a obscenity, essentially a fight between related European so called royal families.

Wright and Fisher were found guilty of killing 18-year-old Peter McBride, shot as he ran away from a military checkpoint in the New Lodge district of north Belfast in 1992.
The soldiers' claim that they opened fire because they thought Mr McBride was carrying a coffee jar bomb was rejected, and they were sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
However, after serving just six years they were released and allowed to return to the Army.
Mr McDonald, who has been the Independent Assessor since 1997, said in his report on Tuesday that the decision undermined the credibility of Army employment policy.
He said the pair should not have been reinstated, adding that a resolution to this sensitive issue remained necessary in the interest of justice.
"When the Army are dismissing young men for smoking pot, the fact that it has failed to do anything with these two guys undermines its credibility," said Mr McDonald.
"They should not have been reinstated."
MP Jeremy Corbyn said he found it "incomprehensible that, two years on from their release on licence, two convicted murderers are continuing to serve as soldiers in the British Army".
Mr Corbyn added: "Wright and Fisher have never shown the slightest remorse for their crime.
"This is not about politics. It is about human rights and the fact that these two individuals have been allowed to go back into the British Army even though they are convicted murderers.
"This would not be acceptable anywhere else in the world and is not acceptable here.
Fisher and Wright another pair of British army convicted murderers. Like Clegg, they also managed to get off their murder conviction via the British press that portrays all 'their' soldiers as heroes.
These murderers will live with their crimes. No corrupt law system will ever be able to really free them of their cowardly acts of murder.
Salaried and pensioned volunteers for modern commercial wars are no more heroes, no more noble than someone who serves burgers in a McDonalds.
Modern soldiers just tend to ask fewer questions, have more flexible morals than most decent intelligent people, who would refuse to shoot complete strangers, regardless of the pay.
Say no to their or any other Poppy, it only encourages them to justify war.
