Sceala Irish Craic Forum Discussion:     Boring negative Donegal GAA Football

Donegal would destroy Football. Donegal are the most boring and negative football team ever.
Dublin even with a man sent off beat Donegal. Fourteen-man Dublin squeeze past Donegal in the most boring, defensive struggle ever at Croke Park to qualify for their first All-Ireland football final since 1995.
Some of the RTE commentators remarks at half time. One of who joked he tried to escape.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
What game is Donegal playing, it certainly is not football.
Fourteen-man Dublin edge out Donegal in a messy defensive struggle at Croke Park to qualify for their first All-Ireland football final.
Both sides packed their defence, with Donegal adopting a particularly cautious approach, which looked as if it would pay off when they eased into a three points lead early in the second half.
A low-scoring encounter finally went Dublin's way, strangely after they lost full forward Diarmuid Connolly to a straight red card on 57 minutes.
On Donegal's negative brand of football, Dublin manager Pat Gilroy said: "I think if you have a way that is going to stop good players playing then you have to play to your strengths. We don't have to worry too much about it being a spectacle. I thought we played exceptionally good football in the last 20 minutes to get around it. It is for others to worry about rather than me."
"We expected it so we probably weren't as frustrated as people watching were. We knew it was going to be difficult to break "

Dublin were bad to watch - Donegal turned the stomach.
Donegal are out - GAA and football is the winner.
If Dublin play like that again, I hope football wins and Kerry take them apart. Dublin won't play like that again, this boring travesty is Donegal 2011 idea of football.
