We accept that the world is in financial turmoil ....we understand that we have to cut our cloth to suit these times.
We want your leadership ...we want your action to help the Irish economy ...and we need this now.
Please act now ...and when you act ...do so with thought uppermost for us the Irish people ...Irish people living and paying taxes in ....the Republic of Ireland.
Before you decide to ....further cut the education standards for our own Irish Children.
Before you decide to ....cut back from our own Irish pensioners.
Before you decide to ....cut back on the most vulnerable in Irish society.

You should first examine.
Why we are subsidizing non commercial projects in NI ....in case you two have been asleep ....do you not know they have a lower unemployment than we do.
Unemployment in the Republic of Ireland is 6.6% and rising
In NI ...unemployment is 4.4%
So why are we giving them any of our money that does not have a financial return ...do they give us any free money ....do you expect Mr Robinson and Mr McGuinness to financially help us out.
In the past we were told this money was being given ....to prevent a return to violence by the criminal elements in NI.
This excuse was a disgrace back then ....a give in to terrorism.
These hand outs have to stop ....this threat of violence has no more credible base than the threat ....of our own home grown criminals ...and of far less real concern.
We do not have the money to give to these people in NI ...if they want to be part of the Republic of Ireland ...they can apply to join ...when they are ready ....and when we decide to allow them.
Stop giving our money to NI ....now.

Why are we funding new immigrant projects?
Have you got jobs planned for these new people ....where ....how when unemployment ..by your own suggestion will hit 10% in 2009.
You should ...Stop all payments to all such projects now.

The Eastern European time bomb
If immigrants want to come here ...then can you at the very least ensure ....you will no longer be encouraging those ....who come here to live off Irish social welfare rates.
If you think this is not ...a most serious issue ...I suggest you examine the national average salaries in Eastern Europe ...and then compare same to our social welfare rates.
Are we legally obliged to pay social welfare to foreign nationals ....at Irish rates.
Can you not get the ...immigrants home nation to pay for their own citizens welfare .....or at least contribute.
If not ...can you change the system so we assist only immigrants in genuine need ....and then only up to a maximum equivalent of their own home nations welfare rates.

You are looking at the bottom line ...the bottom line is ....no one forces anyone to come to Ireland. Immigrants and immigrant groups are free to complain ....and free to leave Ireland ....go where things are better.

Yet economic immigrants keep on coming to Ireland ...Why ... when on the evidence it simply does not make any economic sense. ....There are no spare jobs in Ireland ..none.

We all know the reason why low skilled immigrants continue to come to Ireland ...and will continue to come ...the reason is Ireland's social welfare system.
Until we stop paying for the welfare of foreign citizens who choose to come here ...Ireland can never recover.
Ireland will remain vulnerable to low skilled immigrants who are looking to exploit which ever EU state has the best social welfare rates .....providing a charity like fallback and minimum risk for the voluntary economic immigrant.
Each EU state should pay for their own citizens. They can be paid anywhere in the EU if necessary ...but the citizens own nation must pay. Only then will we have a fair Europe and a responsible EU. The EU currently encourage exploitation on all sides ...and irresponsible state governments

We are a small country and most vulnerable to the current ridiculous EU laws ..that allow any EU citizen to travel and work ...but do not insist upon either harmonious rates of social welfare ....or enforce all nations to pay for their own citizens.
The EU work and social welfare system is fundamentally flawed.

Our social welfare system was designed for Irish people ...and the rates were for Irish citizens in a healthy economy. As several others have stated here ...our social welfare system has been exploited to meltdown. For several years we have been providing social welfare to hundreds of thousands of low skilled unemployed from across the EU ....especially the East and next the UK.
Irish social welfare rates when not more generous ...often compete with full time employment in the immigrants own home nation.
Over 20% on the dole here are not Irish.
