Sceala Irish Craic Forum Discussion:     Irish Calendars 2008

Several members have enquired about Irish calendars for 2008. The news is, yes there will be Irish calendars for sale and they will be advertised here shortly. One thought arising was that members might like to make their own Irish, or personal theme calendar, for profit or just for the the fun of creating.

If you do not have any ambition to showcase your own work, then please consider creating works for your chosen charity. You might enjoy the work and at the same time your efforts could make a difference. It will be good if all those who do want to promote their work can make a voluntary donation to a charity, but this is totally up to you.
Irish charities you may wish to help

Bubblegum club - The Bubble Gum Club was set up in 1994, to look after children with life threatening illnesses and children in crisis.

The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children - The ISPCC exists to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to experience love and happiness, to stop discrimination and exclusion of children and to end cruelty and injustice to children

COPE Foundation - For over forty years, a registered charity has provided a fully comprehensive service to persons with an intellectual disability/mental handicap in Cork City and County.

Dublin Simon Community is a non-profit, non-denominational organisation, which works with homeless people. Founded in February 1969, the Community started out with a soup run three nights a week which actively sought people sleeping rough in Dublin.

Exchange House Travellers Service We are an organisation of Travellers and settled people working together to provide services to Travellers in the Dublin area. We provide Family Support, Youth Services, Drugs Counselling and Education programmes to members of the Traveller community in the Dublin area.

GOAL believes that every human being has the right to the fundamentals of life: food, water, shelter, healthcare and literacy.
Throughout the developing world, people are dying for want of these basic rights: GOAL's mission is to respond quickly and efficiently with emergency supplies and life saving services.
We believe that the money we collect must be spent directly on the people who need it most.
To do this, we keep our administration costs to a bare minimum.
We also believe it is essential to train local people and build the capacity of local organisations so that they can continue to provide healthcare and other services long after GOAL has left the country.

The Salvation Army in Ireland operates eight social centres meeting a variety of needs, regardless of race, creed or religion.

You do not need any special coding skills, or website knowledge to make an Irish or any other theme calendar. There are online print companies that specialize in the production of personal designed calendars and provide all the tools you need.
External online calendar resources of use Photoworks and CafePress both allow customers to turn their digital photographs into one-of-a-kind calendars.
