Kev, why not read the above? It is Irish History after all! This is a 'forum' where we here hope to engage in discussion about Irish topics....why not read and share your thoughts and contribute your thoughts about what was posted?

Just an idea! Of course you don't have to, it's just a thought.

ALL of us on this forum are quite aware that the British controlled Ireland by violence and force. They gathered the Irish up and branded them criminals and sent them off to other countries! It is history, it's part of the Irish history and what happened to so many of the Irish, the ones who ended up in America and helped build America!

This is all part of the discussion! That is what makes a great forum even greater.

Just my thoughts...it's nice to have new people from other parts of Ireland joining in and go further and sharing experiences of thier own families etc.

I'm certainly interested in learning all I can.

Kev....I'd like to read about some of your family stories...did you grow up in Belfast? Only if you want to share of course.
