Wikipedia is a free, open content, community-built online encyclopedia with thousands of articles on topics from A to Z. Available in dozens of languages it is a feature rich and extensive online encyclopedia.
A software tool, developed by Virgil Griffith of the California Institute of Technology, claims to be able to reveal several high profile sources who are editing Wikipedia.

One such high profile edit, alleges that computers traced back to the Vatican, were involved with the removal of content from a wikipedia page about Gerry Adams, the President of Sinn Fein. The edit removed links to newspaper stories written in 2006 that alleged that Gerry Adams' fingerprints and hand prints were found on a car used during a double murder in 1971.
The section, titled "Fresh murder question raised", though is no longer available through the online encyclopedia.

Wikipedia is viewed by many as the ultimate knowledge base. However the open nature of the online encyclopedia is possibly the major flaw in its aim to impart knowledge. Literally anyone [who can type and has access to the internet] can edit information on wikipedia, and can do so without the need to provide any credible or material evidence, Wikipedia content therefore can not be considered as either impartial or accurate.
The now removed initial Gerry Adams allegations section for example, could have been entered maliciously.
The mystery may still remain as to who in the Vatican, took the time out to edit the pages.
