Roy Keane, Sunderland boss is poised to spend again despite sending his summer spree soaring to £27million with the capture of Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
And Cork city striker Roy O'Donovan's proposed move to Sunderland is a major step closer to completion after the two clubs agreed a deal for the eircom League's top scorer.
O'Donovan had been expected to move to Fulham but Sunderland swooped in with a late deal that will see them pay €500,000 for the player, which could rise to €1million based on appearances and international caps. The deal is subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, however O'Donovan is believed to be keen to link up with Sunderland boss Roy Keane, and the deal is expected to go through this week.
