Today Cork City make Irish soccer history when they become the first ever Irish league side to play in a quarter final of a European soccer competition- the Intertoto Cup
They play FC Nantes of France, first leg Le stade de la Beaujoire, tonight, 5pm Irish time, they will play the return leg in Cork (Turners Cross)
This will be a very tough match for Cork to win , but if Nantes make the same mistake of underestimating Cork as Dutch top side NEC Nijmigen did in the last round, (and by press accounts they are) you never know.
Nantes (Probable): Grondin; Drouin, Savinaud, Guillon; Fae, Berson, Capoue, Quint, Toulalan; Da Rocha (Capt.) Ahamada.
Cork City (Probable): Devine; Londan, Bennett, Murray (Capt.), Murphy; Doyle, O’Brien, O’Callaghan, Kearney; Fenn, O’Flynn.
Prediction Cork to get a result (likely a draw)
