Sceala Irish Craic Forum Discussion:     English nationals in largest ever Ireland drug dealers find

Gardai have already seized more than €105m of cocaine in what is the largest seizure of cocaine in the history of the State.
The cocaine was found in the sea off the south-west coast of Cork Ireland. A man has been arrested in connection with the haul.
Young English nationals are thought involved with the largest drug hauls find in Ireland. The discovery of the drugs was by chance, after a inflatable dinghy capsized around a mile from shore between Mizen Head and Three Castles Head some time yesterday morning. It is thought that two or three English nationals were in the boat when it capsized at sea. Two of the men are now ashore, but one maybe still missing.
Dozens of suspicious packages were pulled from the sea where rescuers are now searching for the man who is missing off the West Cork coast since yesterday afternoon.
One man swam to shore and raised the alarm and a second was later rescued from the water. Eyewitnesses say at least 50 suspicious packages have also been recovered from the water by the coastguard.
A man is being held by gardaí in connection with the discovery of packages of cocaine in the sea off West Cork. Another man is in hospital in Bantry and gardaí are searching for two more men onshore.
Irish Navy divers are assessing diving conditions and whether it will be possible to continue searching around Dunlough Bay for any further consignments of drugs. Conditions are said to be good, but there is a swell.
So far more than 1.5 tonnes of cocaine were removed from the waters off West Cork yesterday.
Gardaí have extended road blocks in the area and it is now impossible to gain any access to Dunlough Bay.
They are holding a case conference in Bantry this morning as part of the investigation into the drug trafficking operation.
It appears to be the work of an English-based gang with most of the cocaine destined for the English market.
Customs officers believe more of the drug could still be found, however no more bales of the drugs have been found this morning.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's Morning Ireland, Seamus Lynch of the Revenue Customs Services said the search off the Cork coast is expected to last for several days. He said the inflatable boat used by the men was lifted from the water late last night and was brought ashore at around 1am this morning.
Early indications suggested there were no drugs onboard, but a detailed search of the vessel has still to be carried out. He also said that customs were investigating the possibility that the inflated vessel had met a larger yacht, converted fishing boat or ship to bring the cocaine into shallow waters.
Police are now searching for two men they believe were waiting with a van on the shore for what now appears to be a massive cocaine consignment from the Carribean.
