Ulster lose to London Irish.
The poor away record of Ulster in the Heineken Cup continued as they lost 29-13 to London Irish.
The Exiles (London Irish) dealt Ulster's Heineken Cup ambitions a sever blow when they won 29-13 at their Madejski Stadium.
An early penalty from David Humphrey's put Ulster ahead but the Exiles responded with two quick tries. London Irish Shane Geraghty was the man of the match, crossing over for a crucial try also kicked three conversions. Geraghty, has still to declare his allegiance to either England or Ireland.
Never the less both Ulster and London Irish having considerable ground to make up in their groups in order to qualify for the knockout stages of the Heineken cup
Munster beat Cardiff in Wales
The European rugby champions Munster equalled Leicester's record of 11 successive Heineken Cup victories with a 12-22 defeat of Cardiff and put one foot in the quarter-finals with another win built around raw forward power. Munster, masters at closing out a game, turned the screw when O'Gara's fourth successful penalty clocked up his 800th Heineken Cup point. After the game Ronan O'Gara said: 'We never hit the heights of some of our better performances in this tournament, but we have to brave it out and to win away from home by 10 points is hugely satisfying. 'In those conditions, it had to be route one stuff and it was a case of keeping our heads down and working hard. This is a results business, and we have now won three out of three in this group.'
Munster are now unbeaten in the Heineken Euro rugby tournament for more than a year. Munster are almost certain now for 2007 quarter finals, with two of Munsters remaining three group games to be played Thomond Park, where Munster have never lost a Heineken Cup match, in their quest to emulate Leicester by becoming only the second team to retain the European title.
Leinster
Brian O'Driscoll was in superb form for Leinster at Lansdowne Road, as he scored a hat-trick of tries as Leinster beat Agen 26-10 in their qualification bid for the Heineken Cup's knockout stages. O'Driscoll Leinster captain's led his side to a victory which sees them now top of the pool four standings.
And in the European Challenge cup Connacht claim a hard fought victory giving their European Challenge Cup quarter final hopes a boost with a hard-earned 26-13 victory over Montpellier at the Sportsground in Galway.
