THE MARCH MOON

March moon
Silver grey adornments
Sunken deep in veiled clouds
Dark with the promise
Of sultry nights to come

Moon madness
Power in the stillness
Rain fell
Thunder roared
Yet the Moonshine comes
Laughing at the storm
Smiling the ancient smile
One lover gives another

March moon
High in the skies
Light bouncing
Reflecting off billowy clouds
Softly shaded hollows
Pewter toned
Their depth ageless

Mad March moon
Mistress of all men
Demure maid in youth
Beauty fortold
Lush and ripe as a bride
Elegant once grown old

March moon madness
Rising higher
Growing rounder
Drawing strength from ocean depths
Power waxes
Power wanes

March moon
High above my head
Evening pushes into dawn
Night is falling away

Moon maddening
Gladdening
Blissfully waiting
Full on the morrow
