Oh doctor

It is with some reservation i make this post
i was so moved and so disturbed by a current event in the usa
i hope it doesn't cause offence.

Oh doctor, oh doctor the young woman cried
There’s a pain in my head and a pain in my side
He prodded he poked and he pondered and pried
He finally arranged to take pictures inside

There’s good news and bad news to be reconciled
For your head has a tumour and your womb has a child
There’s naught can be done for the former complaint
And the later is balanced by fiscal constraint.

As the young woman pondered her unborn child’s fate
She slipped into a coma and out of debate
The doctors they rallied and gave this advice
The child may be saved but saved at a price

The people they answered the sad husbands call
For a ransom to keep her plugged into the wall
The world it would watch and the holy would pray
And some they would argue the child life away
