The Irish rugby team will today head out to their pre World Cup training camp in Poland.
Spala has the now famous cryotherapy fitness facility, this is a large freezing chamber that the Irish rugby players enter to speed up recovery following training.
"The shorter off season and less preparation time means we have to be careful how we manage the players, so the pre-season programme is very important, after Spala, we will be heading into more rugby specific preparation when we have our first Rugby World Cup camp at the end of July. By that stage we will be into Test match mode for our final two warm-up games and after that into the tournament itself, so it is really only around the corner." said Eddie O'Sullivan, Ireland Rugby Coach.
Upon return the Irish rugby players will continue their own personal conditioning programmes at their provincial training centres of Leinster, Munster, Connaught and Ulster.
The Ireland squad will thenmeet in Limerick on 29 July to prepare for warm-up games against Scotland (Murrayfield, 11 August) and Italy (Ravenhill, 24 August).
Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan is set to unveil his final 30-man Irish rugby World Cup squad on Sunday, 12 August.
