Irish Morning .

Location: Scotland

You ever see the winter sky white and heavy
and then to see June vivid green and misty
the silence they both bring as dawn comes
silence as in wonder what comes next

You ever walk alone at dawn
and hedgerows come alive
with wild Irish blooms and scented leaves
and little birds sing as always will

you ever see the stars as night it comes
where all is quite but the rolling waves
where stars shine without the city glare
and your happy you are there .

You ever see a village come awake
the cattle plodding on by the break
the farmer and his dog strolling by
a cheerfull good morning and a smile

you ever smell the scent of the turf
or soda bread bakeing on the range
the soft afternoon breeze
the laughs of children chasing the hens

you ever see a village at prayer
the loyal devotion to share
the chaple not grand
but the reverence is sincere .
