Conor the Pirate

Old Conor was a Marauder, he sailed the seven seas
With guns and cannons charged and cross bones wavin’ black
And for a living he would Pillage the cargo ladden ships
Left wives watching for those that n’er did come back

And livin’ this life, he knew he’d one day die.

He’d steal their goods and sink their ships
For killin’ was he famed
For n’er did the Depredator leave the crews alive.

And livin' this life, he knew he’d one day die.

One day as sun was settin’ hueful orange on the blue
And clouds were swirling’ reds across the dimming sky
Conor in his cabin sat with head in hands and tearfilled woe

As livin' this life, he knew he’d surely die.

I love you said a voice to him, I died that you may live
For your sin filled heart, I gladly took the pain
And as you have Trespassed, killed, coveted others’ gold
Forgiveness waits, so turn to Me so you can start again.

Conor knew not this voice but was clear to him who t'was
Conor changed that very day and no longer lived in shame
Helping, protecting, sharing this true love found
With all sailing thro' the treacherous cargo lanes

And livin' this life, he knew he'd n'er die.

From that day forth he was famed, as he protected ships
Who without would have n’er made it home
Cargoes were delivered and so were many souls
As Conor flew a flag of peace and love
Bringing many through and back to their shores home

And livin' this life, he knew he'd n'er die.

One day Conor’s ship was overtook
By a pirates' clipper, cross bones and sails were flyin’ high
And Conor is now waitin' deep within his watery grave
For that same blessed voice
To call him to that mighty voyage to the sky.

For the life he'd lived, he knew he'd n'er die.

Oh Conor t'was He that saved you
From a sinful life and blackened soul
Tis He that will now call you
As He promised you'll be home and whole....…

For the life you lived, you know you'll n'er die.
